Apartment complex fire in Huntington Beach displaces 40 to 50 people

by in News

A fire at an apartment complex in Huntington Beach displaced at least 40 people on Tuesday night.

Huntington Beach Fire Department Battalion Chief Eric McCoy said the fire broke out just before 6:15 p.m. at an apartment complex near the intersection of Brookhurst Street and Hamilton Avenue.

No injuries were reported due to the fire, McCoy said. Roughly 40 to 50 people were displaced due to the fire. The American Red Cross was en route to the area to assist residents of the apartment in finding shelter for the night.

Fire officials said crews will remain at the scene overnight to mop up, and investigators will work to find the cause of the fire.
