A pedestrian who was struck by a pickup truck in Seal Beach on Thursday, Oct. 31, later died at a hospital, officials said Friday.

The crash happened in the area of Oakmont Road and El Dorado Drive at about 10 a.m., Seal Beach Police Department officials said in a news release. The man who was struck sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle waited at the scene of the collision for authorities to arrive, Seal Beach Police Sgt. Michael Henderson said.

No arrests had been made in connection with the incident as of Friday evening, however it remained under investigation.

It was not immediately clear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, or whether or not the pedestrian was crossing a street at the time, Henderson said. The identity of the man who died was not made public as of Friday evening.

Seal Beach police asked anyone with information regarding the collision to contact Officer Nick LaCarra by calling 562-799-4100 ext. 1615.
