Accused attempted bank robber in custody thanks to quick response by Huntington Beach police
A man suspected of attempting to rob a bank Wednesday morning, Nov. 6, was quickly in handcuffs thanks to a quick response by Huntington Beach police, authorities said.
Police received a call about a bank robbery in progress at a Wells Fargo in the 19000 block of Golden West Avenue just after 10:35 a.m., Lt. Kevin Johnson said.
The suspect walked in and handed a teller a note demanding money while simulating having a firearm under his jacket, Johnson said.
But officers arrived before the suspect received any money and they took him into custody.
The suspect was not in possession of a weapon, Johnson said.
