Brush fire in Prado Basin affects Corona airport

by in News

A small brush fire briefly affected operations at Corona Municipal Airport before the flames were extinguished Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 12.

Corona Fire Department Assistant Chief Chris Cox said the flames burned about a quarter-acre. The airport manager ordered a halt to takeoffs and landings while fire engines accessed the fire via the airport runway, Cox said.

The fire was reported just after 1 p.m. Engines left about 2:45 p.m. and the airport reopened, Cox said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation. No injuries were reported, Cox said.
