by in News

A rapper who worked with Snoop Dogg and other artists died in a Riverside County jail on Monday, Nov. 11, the Sheriff’s Department said Tuesday.

Jamarr Antonio Stamps, 43, had been housed at Cois M. Byrd Detention Center in French Valley, said Deputy Robyn Flores, a department spokeswoman. Stamps, whose professional name was Bad Azz, did not appear to be a victim of a homicide, Flores said. No other information on the circumstances was available on Tuesday. The department expected to issue a news release in the near future, Flores said.

Entertainers and others reacted Tuesday to the death of rapper Bad Azz.

Stamps was arrested at 4:51 p.m. Friday on Labo Vista Lane in Wildomar on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant, the county jail log said. He was being held in lieu of $10,000 bail and was due to appear in court Wednesday. Stamps was on probation after a 2018 felony conviction on the same charge, Riverside County Superior Court records show.

Snoop Dogg, on his Instagram account, wrote Monday: “R. I. P. To my young. D. P. G. L. L. G. L. B. C. Crew original @badazzlbc gone 2 soon.”

Stamps also worked with Tupac Shakur, Kokane and Bizzy Bone and released his own albums.
