A 30-year-old pedestrian died Thursday night after he was hit by an SUV on Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach, police said.

Officers arrived to the call of the collision shortly after 11 p.m., north of Magnolia Street, and found the man lying on the side of the road, said Sgt. Eric Warken of the Huntington Beach Police Department.

The officers saw a 2019 Dodge Durango with damage to the front parked on a nearby street. The 51-year-old driver, a man from Toronto, Canada, cooperated with the investigation, Warken said. His three passengers were not injured.

Investigators would like to speak with those who witnessed the crash or have information. They can call Accident Investigator Adam Turner at 714-536-5670.
