Natural gas fire put out in Aliso Viejo
A fire that started in Aliso Viejo after a natural gas line ruptured was knocked down by firefighters on Tuesday evening.
The fire broke out about 4:30 p.m. in the 22000 block of Pacific Park Drive, said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Paul Holaday. Authorities evacuated a neighboring gas station and strip mall, Holaday said.
Fire officials said there were no injuries and crews contained the fire until the gas company arrived to shut off the gas line.
A construction crew accidentally ruptured the gas line, Holaday said.
The fire was eventually put out at around 6:40 p.m., fire officials said on social media.
