A man convicted in killing of two women was released the same day he was sentenced for the crime

Shawn Shirck was convicted of killing Margaret Dahl and her mother, Phyllis Porter, but his defense attorney argued that he was unconscious during the slayings and the jury convicted him of involuntary manslaughter instead of murder.
