Bicyclist injured in hit-and-run crash in Irvine

A bicyclist was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle at the Irvine Boulevard on ramp to the northbound 133 toll road Saturday night, authorities said Sunday.

California Highway Patrol officers responded to the location about 11 p.m., according to Paul Rosales, public safety operator with the CHP.

Officers found the bicyclist injured, but the driver had taken off toward the northbound 241 toll road, Rosales said.

The bicyclist was taken to a hospital. His condition and additional information were not available.

The vehicle involved was not located as of Sunday afternoon.
