SANTA ANA — A Laguna Niguel youth softball coach, who was also a member of the UC Irvine Alumni Association’s Board of Directors, was convicted Tuesday of molesting three girls.
Glen Thomas Kauffman, 55, of Laguna Niguel, was convicted of six counts of lewd acts with a minor younger than 14 and three counts of oral copulation or sexual penetration of a child 10 years or younger. He is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 22.

Kauffman molested one of the girls multiple times and once with another, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. The sexual assaults of two 10-year-old girls took place between August 2014 and August 2017, prosecutors said.
The third girl was molested in May 2016.
Kauffman had been a board member of the UCI Alumni Association since 2014.
Kauffman is a 1986 graduate of UCI with a bachelor’s degree in information and computer science and a 1994 graduate of the school’s MBA program, according to a biography that had been posted on a UCI Alumni web page.
