Irvine police have released the sketch of a suspect in an armed robbery that happened earlier this week in hopes it will help identify him.

The sketch was based on the victim’s description, Irvine police said Friday, Oct. 18.

The night of the robbery, Oct. 14, police were called to the area of Bosque and Irvine Boulevard, where the victim had reported that he was inside his home when a man appeared and brandished a handgun, according to police Lt. Mark Anderson.

Another resident had returned home at the time of the robbery, at about 8:45 p.m., and the suspect fled taking cash and credit cards, Anderson said.

The robber was described as a 25-year-old man wearing a navy blue hooded sweatshirt.
