Wrong-way driver suspected of causing rollover crash in Seal Beach sought by police
Seal Beach police asked for the public’s help Monday, Oct. 21, to track down a wrong-way driver suspected of causing a roll-over crash that sent one person to a hospital over the weekend.
Police fielded multiple calls just after 10:45 p.m. Saturday of a crash on Pacific Coast Highway near the Anaheim Bay Bridge, Seal Beach Police Department Sgt. Mike Henderson said.
The driver of a car that rolled over told police he had to swerve at the last moment to avoid another vehicle traveling north in the southbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway, Henderson said. That motorist was able to exit his vehicle before officers arrived, but was hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Witnesses told police the wrong-way driver continued north in the southbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway after the crash, but were unable to describe the suspect vehicle, Henderson said.
Police urged anyone who might be able to help investigators identify the driver or vehicle involved in the incident to call investigators at 562-799-4100, ext. 1649.
