Officials identify 2 killed after collision on 405 Freeway in Irvine
Officials identified two Anaheim residents on Thursday, Oct. 31, who were in a car and died when it crashed, landing on a center divider of the 405 Freeway in Irvine.
The single-vehicle crash happened Tuesday in northbound lanes of the Freeway near Irvine Center Drive at about 9:52 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, Orange County Fire Department officials said. A Nissan Altima appeared to have collided with a pole hard enough to crush the car’s passenger cabin.
Luis Eduardo Vazquez, 28, was behind the wheel of the Nissan during the crash, Orange County Deputy Supervising Coroner Artin Baron said. Mayra Alejandra Castillo, 27, was in the passenger seat. Both were pronounced dead at the site of the collision.
