Two women killed in a crash with a box truck in Irvine on Thursday, Sept. 13 have been identified by the coroner’s office.

Doris Rogers, 88, and Lynda Bobzien, 68, both of Tustin, were pronounced dead at the scene. Rogers was the driver of a small SUV, and Bobzien was one of her passengers.

The crash happened shortly after 10 a.m. on Oak Canyon near Valley Oak Drive. A third woman, also in the SUV, was taken to a hospital in moderate condition, said Orange County Fire Authority Battalion Chief Mike Morganstern.

The driver of the box truck was unharmed and cooperating with investigators, police said. Details about how the crash occurred were not released. No citations were given or arrests made. The accident was under investigation.
