Car vs big rig ends in fatality
An Apple Valley resident died Wednesday after crashing head-on with a big rig near Victorville.
The driver, who was not identified by authorities, was driving a 2002 silver Toyota Corolla east on Highway 18 near High Road when he drove into the opposite lane and crashed with a 2003 Peterbilt tractor-trailer, according to the San Bernardino County coroner’s office.
The driver died at the scene and the identity was pending notification of next of kin.
