Four arrested in LA on suspicion of designer purse heist from Fashion Island in Newport Beach

Police arrested four people in Los Angeles who were suspected in the theft of designer purses from a department store on Monday, Nov. 26.

Suspects took an unspecified number of Louis Vuitton purses from the Neiman Marcus store at the Fashion Island shopping center, 601 Newport Center Dr., sometime before 4:20 p.m., said Newport Beach Police Lt. Rachel Johnson. She said three men fled to a getaway car driven by a fourth suspect that was pursued by the California Highway Patrol.

Police located the suspects in Los Angeles and a helicopter was dispatched to monitor their vehicle, said CHP Officer Moises Marroquin. He said four individuals were arrested near the intersection of La Cienega Blvd. and Cadillac Ave. just before 6 p.m.

Descriptions of the suspects and the potential charges they may face were not immediately released by authorities.
