Thieves take $5,000 worth of electronics from Seal Beach AT&T store

by in News

Police asked for the public’s help Monday in identifying suspects in the robbery of a Seal Beach cell phone store on the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 21.

Employees at the AT&T store at 12830 Seal Beach Blvd. said two people entered the store at about 5:30 p.m. and cut security cords attached to display items with a knife, according to a news release from the Seal Beach Police Department. It said one of them brandished the blade at a worker who tried to follow the suspects as they left the building with four phones and an Apple iPad valued at a total of about $5,000.

The men left the area, turning westbound on Lampson Avenue in a light blue Toyota Camry driven by a third suspect, according to the department’s release. It described the suspects who entered the store as adults in their early 20s wearing hooded sweatshirts. One was said to be a man, but the sex of the other person was not clear to authorities on Monday. A description of the driver was not immediately available.

Seal Beach Police asked that anyone with information about the incident to call Detective Jeff Gibson at 562-799-4100 ext. 1109. Anonymous tips can also be left with Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS or www.occrimestoppers.org.
