A 64-year-old Anaheim man died Thursday night after being hit by a car while crossing Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach.

Officers found the pedestrian with major traumatic injuries in the road near Twin Dolphin Drive shortly after the 10:11 p.m. call,  said Sgt. Eric Warken.

The man was pronounced dead shortly after.

“It appears the pedestrian was crossing PCH outside the crosswalk, south of the intersection,” Warken said. The car, a 2017 Subaru Impreza, was traveling north on the highway when it struck the man.

The driver of the car, a 21-year-old from Dana Point, stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.

Investigators are looking to speak with any witnesses. They can call Huntington Beach Police Accident Investigator Adam Turner 714-536-5670.
