Laguna Niguel crash sends two people to a hospital and one vehicle into a tree

Two vehicles collided in Laguna Niguel, sending one into a tree and two people to a hospital for evaluation on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Authorities received reports of the crash along Crown Valley Parkway, near Club House Drive at about 2:53 p.m., Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Wayne Rehnelt said.

The two occupants of the vehicle that slammed into a tree were taken to Mission Hospital for evaluation, Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Paul Holaday said. They did not appear to have suffered life-threatening injuries.

Details regarding what might have led up to the collision were not immediately released. No other injuries were reported.

The crash led to a brief SigAlert for eastbound lanes of Club House that was canceled at about 4:11 p.m., Rehnelt said.
