Suspect shot by homeowner in Brea still in recovery
A suspect shot by a homeowner during an alleged break-in in Brea over the weekend remained hospitalized as of Monday, March 9, police said.
The man who was wounded remained in treatment, but was expected to survive, Brea Police Lt. Tim Mercado said. Detectives planned to meet with prosecutors on Tuesday to discuss charges that may be filed related to the incident.
His name was not immediately released.
The suspect had been shot Sunday by a resident of a home on the 200 block of South Laurel Avenue. He was struck once, and rushed to a nearby hospital.
