Wind, frost advisories issued for Orange County, Inland Empire
The continued wind and cold in inland Southern California prompted the National Weather Service to issue a pair of advisories Saturday, Dec. 29.
A wind advisory will be in effect through 4 p.m. Saturday for inland Orange County, the Santa Ana Mountains and the valleys of the Inland Empire, including the cities of Riverside, San Bernardino, Ontario, Moreno Valley, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga and Corona.
Winds from the north and northeast will gust from 40 to 50 mph, with occasional gusts to 60 mph below the Cajon Pass, the weather service said. Drivers of high-profile vehicles and those on east-west highways, where crosswinds will blow, should use caution.
Also, a frost advisory will be in effect through 8 a.m. Sunday for wind-sheltered valleys and drainages, where low temperatures of 28 to 35 are possible. Sensitive outdoor plants should be covered or brought inside, and shelter should be provided for pets and livestock, the weather service said.
There were no advisories for Los Angeles County.
